Sarif's Fitness Journey.....

Part-I :
- The year was 2011. I was merely a 15 year old teenager still in high school, and was suffering from acute obesity. I was always overweight as a kid and by that time my weight had reached a bouncing 120 kilograms. My Dad decided to enroll me in a gym for weight loss and then another struggle came into my way. Yes, it was really exhaustive for an obese kid to go through such rigorous training. But I still managed to shed 7.5 Kg in the first 2 months. Consequently I could reduce 20 kgs in the next 7 to 10 months. But that was it. I couldnβt continue….
Part-II :
It was not coming from inside, there was no liking for the routine and it became a struggle for me to hit the gym every day. So, I stopped…..
- And I was back to square one. I again started putting on weight and this time health issues started cropping in. I was diagnosed with kidney stone problems in 2016 and 2017 and also started to develop several chronic health issues, such as indigestion, acidity . 2018 and 2019 were the toughest times of my life and my mental health was also suffering.
- 22nd February of 2019 was the worst day of my life and that day marked the turning point of my life too.

Part-III :
-
That day, I decided to take control of my life in my own hands and start afresh. I accepted the fact that I was not leading a physically and mentally healthy life and I was finally ready to bring in whatever change was required to rectify my lifestyle. By 2019 I was finally 150.4 kgs and my fitness journey had just begun. I initially started with morning walks and then after sometime I was able to run small distances. In the months of January and February 2020, I finally participated in marathons and completed two 5km runs and one 3km run. In those one and half years, my weight came down to 128 kgs from 150 kgs.
-
Part-IV:
With 128 kgs, I decided to join a gym. I got the privilege to train under Samir Halder Sir. I joined a fat loss program and under his guidance I started training myself. I decided to achieve a goal of attaining a weight below 100 kgs. I was so used to seeing a 3 digit weight figure, all the time, that this became a challenge for me to be fulfilled. By the time of Id, I was 99 Kgs and that was an encouraging step for me. Within the next 2 months I achieved a weight of 96 Kg..

Part-V :
-
Presently I am still continuing my journey. Now I have bigger goals in life. I want to pursue powerlifting and bodybuilding to participate in competitions. In the past few years, I will also mention that I was not into any strict diet regime and included every natural food in my routine, such as eggs, chicken, fish, rice, roti, vegetables, but ofcourse in moderation.
I am sharing my life story so that I can inspire hundreds of others suffering in similar situations. My experience is that,
