Drinks: To Detox & Nourish Your System

Detoxification refers to the removal of toxins from the body. However, our kidneys and intestines naturally do this work continuously for us.  

Our exposure to pollution, heavy metals, preservatives, and pesticides have increased human toxin consumption. As a result, toxins accumulate in our body in the cellular level, causing adverse effects on metabolic, reproductive, and mental health. By detoxifying, your body assists the vital organs in cleansing themselves of toxins and allowing the liver to function appropriately in excreting them.

A Wellness Drink a beverage, often a concoction of fruits, vegetables, herbs, and spices, promoted for its ability to cleanse the body of toxins and improve overall health. These drinks help to boost metabolism, have antioxidants,  aid digestion, provide essential vitamins, minerals and support weight loss.

Green Tea with Ginger:

Is Responsible For : Improved digestion, antioxidant support, and immune function.

Function: Green tea, rich in catechins, provides antioxidants and helps in weight management. Ginger has anti-inflammatory properties and helps in indigestion.

  • Recipe: Over medium-low heat, combine 1 cup of water, along with 1 inch peeled and grated ginger root . Bring it to boil and let it simmer for 5 minutes. Steep the green tea bags into the ginger tea for 3 minutes and drink while warm.  If desired, a teaspoon of honey may be added for a mild sweetness.

Detox Morning Drink:

Is Responsible For : improved blood sugar control, regulated blood pressure, digestion support, and improved metabolism. 

Function: Cinnamon helps to improve insulin sensitivity and apple cider vinegar has the potential to lower blood sugar levels. This can help regulate blood glucose. ACV might support weight loss by curbing appetite and boosting metabolism

Recipe: Mix the following into a smooth drink in a blender and consume.

  •  1 teaspoon of cinnamon powder
  •  2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar (ACV)
  • 2 tablespoons of lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon of honey
  • 1 glass of water

Lemon Juice in Morning Routine :-

Is Responsible For : Boosts the immune system, flushes out toxins from the body, maintains the PH balance, helps in weight loss, reduces throat infection and relieves respiratory problems.

Function: A good source of Vitamin C, iron and phyto-nutrients which help in prevention and cure of various diseases.

  • Recipe:

    Mix the following into a smooth drink in a blender and consume first thing in the morning before having any other food..

    •  1 teaspoon of apple cider vinegar (ACV)
    • 1 teaspoon of honey
    • Juice from 1 whole lemon
    • 1 glass of normal or lukewarm water

Skin Cleanser Watermelon Smoothie :-

Is Responsible For : Boosts Hydration, provides electrolytes, cleanses the skin, supports heart health and also facilitates muscle recovery. Antioxidants are health-supporting molecules that reduces cellular damage and leads to healthy and youthful skin.

Function:  Contains magnesium and potassium, which help to improve exercise performance and maintain fluids for hydration. Components of watermelon may also help lower blood pressure.

  • Recipe:Mix the following into a refreshing smoothie in a blender and consume on a hot summer day.
    • 1 cup of coconut water
    • 2 cups of water melon
    • 2 cups of ice

Breakfast Smoothie :-

Is Responsible For : Is packed with vitamins, antioxidants, and fiber, supporting overall health and energy levels. Blueberries are a Super-food and contain powerful compounds called flavonoids and antioxidants called which fight against free radicals in the body.  all abundant in this food. The causes reduced cholesterol and improved blood vessel. It possesses a low glycemic index for optimal blood glucose levels.

Function:  Flavanols are compounds naturally found in apples, pears, blueberries, blackberries, grapes and cocoa (common smoothie ingredients) and are known to be beneficial for the heart and cognitive health.
Manganese, Vitamin K, and Vitamin C are present in the drink.

  • Recipe: Mix the following into a refreshing smoothie in a blender and consume on a hot summer day.
    • 1 cup of ice
    • 1/2 cup of yogurt
    • 2 cups of almond milk
    • 1 & 1/2 cups of blueberries

Calorie Burning Drinks :-

Is Responsible For : Is recommended to keep one hydrated and cool in
summer. This juice is packed with essential
nutrients to keep your energy levels high throughout the day.

Function:  Provide vitamins A and K, potassium,
antioxidants and anti-inflammatory agents and can even give you a boost
of energy.Acts as a hydrating agent during summer. Maintains water balance in the body. Cucumber and celery, contain manganese. Manganese helps to synthesize hormones essential for reproductive health. Magnesium found in cucumber regulates blood pressure, blood sugar and muscle and nerve function.

  • Recipe: Chop the ingredients into smaller bits, add to blender along with water. Blend everything until smooth and then strain. You may store it overnight and consume on next day.
    • 1 jar of water ( 500ml)
    • 1 whole cucumber, peeled and cut
    • 3 celery stems chopped in big chunks
    • ½ ” ginger peeled
    • Juice of 1 lemon

Carrot Juice :-

Is Responsible For : Helps in weight loss, cleansing of digestive tract, reduces aches and pain in body and improves blood cholesterol levels. It is rich in Vitamin A and also improves eye sight.

Function:  Promotes eye health, skin, immunity, and hydration. Carrot juice helps to detoxify the body by flushing out toxins and improving liver health.

  • Recipe: Mix the following into a refreshing juice in a blender and consume.
    • 2 cups of water
    • 1 jar of water ( 500ml)
  • 1 whole carrot, peeled and cut into small pieces
  • 1 full pear cut into small chunks
  • ½ ” ginger peeled

Matcha Tea :-

Is Responsible For : Matcha contains more caffeine and antioxidants than are typically present in green tea. It helps prevent cell damage, protects the liver, promotes heart health and is useful in weight loss.

Function:  Is high in cancer-fighting antioxidants, particularly the catechin. Contains vitamin C, chromium, magnesium, selenium and zinc.

    • Recipe: Sift the matcha powder to remove lumps. Heat water around 80°C-100°C. Add the matcha powder to a mug and whisk vigorously with hot water, to make a  froth. Add almond or soya milk and sweetener to taste.
